TRANSGO SK6T70G2 Specifications

Shift Kit; For 6T70/6T75 GEN2 Transmissions
This TransGo 6T70-G2 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit fits 2013 and newer General Motors vehicles equipped with a GEN2 6T70, 6T75 and 6T80 automatic transmission. Common complaints with this transmission are erratic shifts, broken parts, TCC slip as well as various solenoid performance and gear ratio codes. This kit does not fit GEN1 units.

One source of the shift complaints is the wear at the actuator feed limit (AFL) valve bore. The purpose of the AFL valve is to limit the pressure going to the solenoids. The AFL valve spring is calibrated to prevent the solenoid feed pressure from exceeding a predetermined PSI, no matter what main line pressure is. This is necessary to prevent more fluid from being fed to the solenoids than they can effectively regulate and limit what max line pressure output is. If the pressure feeding the solenoids is too high or too low, their output will also be too high or too low. As a result, shift quality complaints and codes can occur along with low or high main line pressure.

The other source of the shift related complaints is wear at the pressure regulator valve and or bore. When the valve or bore wear occurs, EPC boost signal oil is going to be low. The end result is lazy or slow pressure boost response and the related symptoms similar to the worn AFL system.

The TCC slip problems can occur in this transmission from wear at the TCC regulator valve bore. This kit addresses the wear with a redesigned valve that incorporates a scarf cut sealing ring and extended land that restores the integrity of the valve bore. Lastly, a new relief system prevents expensive hard part damage due to accidental pressure spikes.

Features & Benefits:

The kit includes an oversized AFL valve. The new valve is oversize which means you will need the TransGo tool-kit part # AFLG2TK to ream the bore. This universal tool-kit works for all GEN2 6F35, 6T30, 6T40, 6T45, 6T50, 6T70, 6T75 and 6T80 transmissions.

A new drop-in hardened steel TCC regulator valve that has re-positioned longer lands and incorporates a groove where a scarf cut seal is fitted so that it seals in the original worn bore. Also, a new design PR valve with longer lands restores the function and reliability of the pressure regulator system. Lastly, a new pressure relief system replaces the OE isolator valve line-up. This new system prevents expensive hard part damage due to pressure over boost.

All About The GM 6T70E Shift Kit

Ford/GM FWD GEN2 6 Speed Reamer and Guide Kit

TransGo Shift Kit vs. Reprogramming Kit

Shift Kit® -- DESIGNED FOR DURABILITY

TransGo Shift Kit® valve body repair kits correct, prevent and reduce multiple transmission problems such as shift irregularities and durability issues. These kits are designed for normal everyday use and light duty towing.

Reprogramming Kit -- ENGINEERED FOR PERFORMANCE

TransGo Reprogramming Kit™ valve body performance kits are made for Heavy Duty and/or Performance applications, and include additional features such as:

  • Gear Command™: Allows full control of downshifting and will hold any gear to any RPM. Retains automatic up shifts in the drive position. Certain units allow manual up shifts on driver command.
  • Manual Shift Control: This feature fully converts the valve body to manual/stick shift operation – no automatic shifts. Most Manual Shift Control kits also allow you the ability to easily convert back to automatic.
  • Tuneless: Patent-pending internal calibration technology “tuneless” allows install without the need for additional transmission tuning software or programmers.

What is a Shift Kit?
TransGo Shift Kit® valve body repair kits are a combination of new and re-engineered components that are primarily installed in the valve body, but sometimes the pump or even in the transmission itself. These kits solve a variety of inherent problems and weaknesses that differ by transmission model, including usual warp and wear, often allowing a higher mileage transmission to work better than a new one. Typical components of a valve body repair kit include springs, valves, check balls, gaskets, separator plates, etc.
