The rod, pad and bracket are fragile. Do not use a hammer or force things to fit.
Do not lubricate the rod or the pad.
Make sure the visor rod is not "frozen" to the pot metal triangle shaped bracket. If it is too tight, a small amount of WD-40 and moving it around to loosen it a little bit is recommended.
It may be necessary to shim the bracket to align it properly as needed.
Do not tighten the three screws in the bracket and do not try to force the alignment by the rod. This will cause the pot metal bracket to break.
Some trucks only came with a visor for the driver side. If you need to drill mounting holes for the passenger side, make sure it is in the correct position.
The visor pad simply slide on to the rod. The rod fits our reproduction part or can be used on an original as well.
If for some reason the visor pad is too loose, put the rod in a vice and put a slight bow in the rod. The friction between the rod and pad will hold into position.
