Reman

United Reman rebuilds their carburetors to factory pre-set internal and external settings. All products go through flow meter testing to ensure OEM specs are met or exceeded.

Remanufacturing Process :
  • The base, body, and air horn of each carburetor is disassembled and gaskets, needle and seats, plunger caps and any other internal parts which are damaged, are discarded.
  • After disassembly, all internal parts are inspected and cleaned in industrial equipment. All zinc and steel castings are chemically processed to restore the factory finish. All aluminum castings are sandblasted to restore the finish. The salvaged internal parts are cleaned in the same fashion as the castings.
  • After cleaning, the internal parts are inspected and tested, including : electric and vacuum chokes, throttle position sensors, floats, accelerator pumps, etc. If internal parts are damaged or do not pass inspection, they are replaced with new parts.
  • After re-assembly, each unit is tested on a flow-bench engine simulator and any necessary adjustments are made, which allows the carburetor to be installed directly from the packaging.
  • Each carburetor is then shrink wrapped and packaged with a mounting gasket, where applicable, to be used in the installation process.
Prevent Carburetor Flooding / Premature Failure!
  • Avoid fuel blends containing high levels of ethanol. Refer to your Owners Manual for fuel requirements.
    • Ethanol may loosen and dislodge debris from the fuel tank, fuel lines and other fuel system components not originally designed for ethanol mixtures.
  • Always replace the Fuel Filter and flush the fuel lines when replacing or servicing the carburetor.
    • Dirt and debris from unfiltered fuel can catch between the inlet valve and seat, leading to flooding.
  • Consider adding Fuel Stabilizer to the fuel tank if the vehicle won't be driven for extended periods of time.
    • Fuel stabilizer prevents gas from evaporating and/or forming sticky resins that can clog the carburetor.
