Installation Tips on Visors and Visor Brackets
- The rod, pad and bracket are fragile. Do not use a hammer or force things to fit.
- Do not lubricate the rod or the pad.
- Make sure the visor rod is not "frozen" to the pot metal triangle shaped bracket. If it is too tight, a small amount of WD-40 and moving it around to loosen it a little bit is recommended.
- It may be necessary to shim the bracket to align it properly as needed.
- Do not tighten the three screws in the bracket and do not try to force the alignment by the rod. This will cause the pot metal bracket to break.
- Some trucks only came with a visor for the driver side. If you need to drill mounting holes for the passenger side, make sure it is in the correct position.
- The visor pad simply slide on to the rod. The rod fits our reproduction part or can be used on an original as well.
- If for some reason the visor pad is too loose, put the rod in a vice and put a slight bow in the rod. The friction between the rod and pad will hold into position.
