ANSA Exhaust
See what we have from ANSA

RockAuto now carries ANSA Mufflers, ANSA Tail Pipes and other ANSA exhaust parts!

From its humble beginnings in a small workshop in the Emilia region of Italy, ANSA was founded on one man’s love affair with exotic Italian cars. Originally designing exhaust systems for Ferrari race cars, the small family business eventually expanded its European reach and range to cover the most sought after sports cars of the '60s and '70s.

ANSA Parts

Fast forward to today - ANSA offers a full line of durable, high-quality factory replacement exhaust parts to satisfy even the most hard-to-fit Asian and European brand vehicles. ANSA builds direct-fit, stamped or welded exhaust systems and installation hardware that meet or exceed industry standards, are fully compatible with factory components and are engineered to bolt-on accurately every time.

From the '84 VW Rabbit, to the '91 Acura Legend, to the '95 Nissan Pathfinder, to the '02 Mini Cooper, to the '11 Ford Focus, find the ANSA exhaust parts you need for your specific car or truck in the “Exhaust & Emission" category of the RockAuto catalog.

Repair Mistakes & Blunders
Repair Mistakes & Blunders

Back in the 1980s, my family had a 1981 Mercury Cougar that my sister drove daily 30-40 miles for her commute to and from college. One morning its battery died, and a new car battery was installed by the local service station. The new battery worked fine for a week until the following Monday morning when the battery was dead. The garage replaced it with a new unit. The second replacement battery lasted another week. Monday morning it was dead again. The garage installed another battery, and a cursory inspection yielded nothing unusual. This cycle repeated itself two more times aggravating all involved.

I suspected there had to be some sort of slow electrical discharge, but what could it be? All the lights were off, the radio was off, etc. On a hunch I crawled into the trunk and shut the lid... Bingo! The trunk light stayed on. The daily commute during the week was enough to keep the battery charged, but over a weekend with the car parked, the battery charge was slowly drained by the trunk light.Being the inpatient teenager, I could not locate the switch for the trunk light; so I just pulled the bulb and proclaimed the problem fixed. That did fix the dead battery, but I still regret that my fix was just a temporary hack.

Oil Filters & Heart Icons
Tom's Story
FRAM filter cut open

I was so enthused about the FRAM High Mileage® Oil Filter that I cut it open after my daughter unscrewed it from her car's engine last weekend. This oil filter has a little plastic basket inside that contains FRAM's TRT™ additive gel to help balance oil pH and maintain viscosity. It was worth risking cut fingers and cleaning up an oily mess to see if any of that special gel remained after slightly more than a year and 3,000 miles (4,800 km) of city driving. The filter's plastic basket was empty so the gel had been gradually released into the engine oil as planned!

Surprisingly, FRAM has discontinued this unique oil filter. Maybe they did not see all the heart icons Heart Icon next to the FRAM High Mileage Oil Filters in the RockAuto catalog? A small heart icon next to a part's description means that part has been purchased most frequently (with fewest returns) by other owners of that vehicle. The heart icon is one more tool customers can use to choose the part that will best fit their needs.

Part manufacturers can also get valuable insights from the heart icons. The oil filter business is exceptionally competitive. For most vehicles, RockAuto offers a huge selection of excellent oil filters made by numerous manufacturers. When there are more than a dozen competing oil filters, it is quite an accomplishment for one specific oil filter to be so popular that it earns the heart icon.

Nearly all FRAM's High Mileage Oil Filters earned the heart icon. Many have already sold-out. Last weekend, my daughter screwed on a high-tech oil filter made by another respected manufacturer.

RockAuto.com still has FRAM High Mileage Oil Filters for some very popular engines such as the FRAM HM8A that fits everything from a '58 DeSoto to an '06 Ford and the FRAM HM4967 that fits everything from a '88 Toyota to a '11 Lotus. Look under the "Engine" category in the RockAuto catalog to see all the cool oil filters currently available for your specific car or truck!

Andy's 2005 GMC Canyon
Andy's 2005 GMC Canyon

Let me tell you about my 2005 GMC Canyon SLE.

From the first time I saw this black beauty at a US car dealer here in Germany (Bavaria), I fell in love! I bought it in February of 2011 with 89,000 miles. It now has 134,000 leak-free and reliable miles. There is no rust on any of the exterior parts and no blemishes on the chrome either! I am fortunate to have had no serious problems at all. I am now in my fifties and have driven a lot of German cars in the past 30+ years, but none of them have been as reliable as my GMC. Well done General Motors!

I always order my parts from RockAuto. New headlights, bearings, brakes, catalytic converter and many other parts are from RockAuto. Thank you for a great online shopping experience! Your website/catalog is very easy to use and I find all the parts I need!

Kind regards from Germany,
Andy
